About
It's not just about getting on the board and riding all day, it's enjoying and sharing the experience. Teaching has not only helped me improve as a rider, but allowed me to share the thrill and my love of the sport. I'm all about the technical stuff- as an engineering and physics student, I'm fascinated by the 'hows' and the 'whys' of riding and what the board is doing to make it all come together. Having a physical understanding of how your body moves to react with the board really adds confidence to each riders experience, especially while learning the basics.
I've been teaching snowboarding for four years now and have been riding close to ten. There's nothing I look forward to more all year round than grabbing my board and hitting the snow. I've taught all age groups and abilities, from little shredders to adults looking to "turn to the dark side" from skiing, and have even written research papers dealing with the physics of snowboarding. My understanding of the sport allows me to translate movement analysis into instruction and coaching to help you become a better rider.
I appreciate getting feedback from my students as well as fellow instructors- it helps me improve my abilities, So please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments and come shred with me anytime!
I currently ride a Salomon Gypsy and a Roxy Olliepop
