About

I began snowboarding in 1998 and teaching in 2001. I am New Zealand trained and known as a very patient instructor. I teach mainly in the Burton Academy at Northstar, featuring all-day "ultimate 4" lessons with maximum group size of 4, and I am also available for private lessons. I teach hard-boot alpine carving as well as regular snowboarding. I have competed in many pro and amateur events ever since the year 2000, including the Burton Global Open series all around the world in 2008 and 2009. In 2013, 2014, and 2015 I held the U.S. National Championship in snowboarding across all competition events in my age group. When not snowboarding I can be found hiking and backpacking, skateboarding (I suck at it but it's still fun), riding my motorcycle, flying, and most of all spending time with my grandkids.
