About
I love to get people hooked on my passion. Ever since I was a teenager, my dream was to be a ski instructor. I did just that in 1998 at Alpine Valley, Ohio. Yes, there is skiing in Ohio. The trails and the season are short, but you learn to make the most of each run.
My favorite trails at Ski Cooper are Slades and Black Powder. Slades is tucked away and you can often make fresh tracks in the afternoon. Black Powder is the race hill so it's not always open to the public. I love the space, the rollers and the nice even pitch.
I worked my way from Level I to Level III certification as well as Trainer Accreditation while at Alpine Valley. I worked with the staff at there, assisting them with certification preparation and honing their skiing and teaching skills. In 2013 I moved to Leadville, CO and joined the staff at Ski Cooper, becoming the resort training the following year.
When I'm not teaching skiing I teach AutoCAD to architects and engineers and I design an occasional house. For fun I like to hike, kayak, ride my ATV, camp and build things.
