About
You owe it to yourself to make some turns with “dr. dave, telemark turnologist.” I have a passion for all-mountain skiing, whether on high-performance alpine equipment or freeheel nordic gear. I’m a self-confessed soft snow junkie in the ungroomed fluff, but I have fun ripping big lines on groomers too. If you’re game for an especially rewarding challenge, let’s do some downhill dancing on telemark gear! (Unfortunately I no longer know any local places that rent telemark equipment.)
With a PSIA Level 3 certification in telemark skiing and a Level 2 in the alpine discipline, I pride myself in versatility. Beginners and novices - have no fear! I love working with people who are new to the sport or are returning, perhaps after a long layoff. I strive to dial in just the right amount of intensity and technical content for each guest, while always keeping things safe, light and fun. I’ll teach you how to get the most out of your modern equipment to ski more easily and efficiently, saving you some energy to enjoy your apres-ski time too. Do you want to make more graceful, elegant turns? I can teach you to be smooooooth. But if you want to carve deep trenches in the corduroy or dance through the uneven terrain, I’ll be charging right along with you!
Recipient of PSIA Eastern Division’s 2016 Kåre Andersen Award for “extraordinary commitment to promote freeheel skiing and inspire others in living the Nordic life.”
Other passions: Music, woodworking, luthier craft, engineering and physical sciences.
If you seriously want to shred better, book a lesson with “dr. dave!”
