About

I’ve been riding since I was 12 years old and I’ve been instructing since 2001. I’ve grown up on the Sundance Resort and know all its secret spots. If you’re lucky I just might show you some of my favorite powder stashes. I’ve taught practically every type of guest out there from the first timer to the seasoned veteran, 8 year olds to 80 year olds, and everyone in between. Although I spend most of my time riding my snowboard, I also enjoy tearing up the slopes on my skis. (I’m certified to teach both). For the last 10 years I’ve mostly spent my time training the other snowboarding instructors but I also  love teaching new riders to love to ride.

I like to mix things up when I ride. Generally, when I’m not teaching, I’ll look for the steep slopes and the more challenging terrain to get my day started - that usually means I’m hunting down the secret powder pockets until my legs give out. Then I’ll head over to the park and goof around for a bit or race my buddies to the bottom and see how low we can carve without touching the snow.

As an instructor I’m very analytical and focused on helping my guests understand why things work so that they can develop a strong foundation of knowledge and experience upon which they can build so no matter if they’re on their first run ever down a green circle run or ripping down a double black diamond they are self aware and understand how to remain balanced and in control.

I’m a lawyer for my other job - but please don’t hold that against me; I’d do this full time if I could make it pay the bills. When I’m not skiing or snowboarding I try to spend my free time mountain biking, rock climbing, camping, or something outdoors with my family.
