About

<div>Me
I've been teaching since 2006. I passed my AASI level 3 exam in march of 2012. From the season of 2012-2013 to 2014-2015 I headed up the snowboard training and in house freestyle certification for all the staff at Sunday River. I am now a part of the Copper family in Colorado where I teach for Ski and Ride School and coach for Woodward. I've been teaching skiing for 8 years and freestyle skiing for 6, though do not have any certs on skis. Winter has been my passion since I was very small and I love sharing it with as many others as I can!

Gabe is an awesome instructor, and is HIGHLY recommended for anyone wanting to learn how to have fun and enjoy winter sports. I did not have any experience with snowboarding, when I took lessons with him at Sunday River, and before then, I honestly never thought that I would even try it out. Unfortunately, it was only after my little brother passed away that I decided to try the sport that he had loved for so many years. I am so thankful to have taken lessons from such a patient and passionate instructor. Gabe really makes you feel confident, and makes you fall in love with snowboarding. I am looking forward to taking more classes from Gabe on my next trip down! If you are looking to learn to ride or improving your skills, do yourself a favor and take a lesson with Gabe. You will not regret it!

I took a private lesson with Gabe and it was excellent! I am a beginner on the snowboard, this is my first season ever at attempting the sport. I came into the lesson knowing very little and had trouble getting to the bottom of the bunny slopes without falling down. 2 hours with Gabe changed all of that. He has immense knowledge and is very skilled on the board, he turned me in the right direction and now i am already tackling the blue slopes on my third weekend of snowboarding. I would highly recommend him as a teacher to anyone looking to improve.

Started with Gabe about three weeks ago. I did three half day group lessons on the weekends. He was incredible. By the end of the day yesterday I was able to snowboard with my children. I saw a review earlier of Gabe and it was spot on. Working with him was like learning from a friend. He set me up for success. I love the sport now and am thinking of selling my ski's and this is from a 50 year old beginner. I look forward to next year....Thank you Gabe.

My son Matthew took a lesson with Gabe this winter, he was great. In the time they spent together, Matthew's skills developed, and Gabe also gave him a number of things to practice and work on. Gabe was punctual, professional, and fun - Matthew really enjoyed his lesson and will definitely be working with Gabe again next winter.

Gabe is the man! I took a lesson with him this past Sunday and it felt like I was riding with a long time friend! Not only is he a very good rider but he also has an awesome personality and a technical mind. He will ask you "what do you want to learn today" then show you how to do it, then correct your mistakes , and on top of that he will explain the physics behind the theory while on the chair lift! Thanks Gabe!

I am a novice beginner! I really don't care about Gabe's passion, how good he is on the slopes, what tricks he can do or how well he teaches kids or adults. What I care about is that he honors his word. I am 65 years young but the pain from falling down is incredible at this age ~ wish I were six again. I have skied about eight times all total and really enjoyed it. Gabe assured me he could teach me to board without falling down. "I teach (old) folks like you all the time. You only have to fall down if you want to." dah who would want to. I have had some instruction from Gabe on three different occasions and true to his word I only fell when I wanted to. He supported and stablized me through my turns etc.and I am getting it, not as fast as his other students I'm sure but... I would not be as patient with me as his is. So if boarding is on your bucket list I would suggest you request Gabe. He is everything the reviews say he is and more. Happy Boarding! Challenge yourself it's worth it!

It was my 2nd day snowboarding, my 1st day went great and i was able to ride the board down green and blues without too much of a problem (just falling down every once and a while when i didn't feel comfortable), and my grandfather was dead set on doing the black slopes( We previously went skiing every year prior and looked for the most challenging slopes possible). Me, surprised on how serious he was needed to learn how to board, and fast. Gabe helped me improve the little i already knew, and taught me the basics i needed to survive on the black trails later that day. When we went down the blacks, I was able to hold my own, and only fell on a slope so icy, it was shutdown before we could get a round 2. I highly suggest asking for him personally as the female instructor i got the next day just couldn't compare.

Gabe was an awesome instructor! Passionate & patient, which was a relief for me! I'm from Florida, so my experience with snow stops at walking in it. I had a blast, and would recommend anyone who makes it up to Sunday River & needs lessons to see Gabe. :)

Gabe has been teaching my son who is 6 years old for the past two years! Gabe taught him to snowboard at the age of 4. Gabe is extremely patient with him and now my son is able to board with Gabe down dream maker with no problem. I feel very comfortable with leaving my son with Gabe for the day and know that my son is safe and is in Great hands with Gabe!
