About

Hi, My name is Loren. I've had two jobs out since graduating from college. I retired from the USAF (LtCol) after 23.5 years and this will be my 27th year of teaching skiing. This is my nineth season a member of the TamFam. I love teaching all ages, abilities,on or off piste and in all conditions. I am available for private lessons for individuals or you can form your own private group. I specialize in helping skiers regain their confidence and technical skills after a summer's layoff, an injury or surgery. Tamarack has a reputation for having a ton of "secret stashes" and I will be happy to show you some of my secrets. My loves beside skiing are fly fishing and road biking.

Beginner - 2 Hour Kids Private Ski Package

This is our second year with Loren and he is truly one of a kind. This past year, he had my 7 year old daughter skiing confidently after just one 2 hour private lesson (she skied only one time before, 2 years ago after one lesson with Loren). My daughter loved Loren as well. He challenged her and encouraged her and she was skiing a green on her third day. He is a truly gifted instructor and I would highly recommend him as anyone's ski instructor.

Beginner - 2 Hour Morning Adult First Timer Ski Private Package

Loren is an amazing instructor! I am a 1st year instructor here at Tamarack and with Loren's mentoring and invaluable input I passed my Level 1 certification. He is great at identifying where a skier needs improvement and gives effective and clear feedback that will help take your skiing to the next level! I highly suggest Loren as a ski instructor for beginner as well as advanced skiers..

Intermediate - Group RATE Child Ski

You can’t go wrong with Loren. He is so friendly & knowledgable and makes you feel comfortable on the mountain. Two thumbs up for Loren!!

Beginner - Another Program

Loren was very patient and kind as he helped me master some of the basics as a beginner skier. I only spent an hour with him instructing me, but in that time I was able to loosen up and started to feel more natural in my turns as I worked with him. He has a lot of attention to detail when he teaches and notices small things to improve or change in your skiing technique that make a huge difference when applied. I look forward to using the tips and tricks he told me while I continue to learn to ski.

Loren was my clinician at the 2017- 3 day Tamarack training for instructors. I have worked with Loren before, and I really like how he focuses his instruction around a limited number of actions.
