About
My name is April Hayes and I am the program director at Bolton Valley Early Care and Learning Center. My first “real job” was working in a residential treatment center with adolescent mothers and their children. I didn’t realize it then, but the combination of educating children and families, would continue to be a big focus for me. I’ve taught in early education classrooms, directed afterschool programs, and supported families as an early childhood mental health clinician. In the mental health role, I consulted with teachers and directors around social, emotional, behavioral, and attachment needs of children, and learned therapy practices that benefit all children. This experience taught me the importance of embracing individuality, and meeting children where they are. Lastly, I am yoga certified and love the outdoors! Hey, what else do we need besides breath and nature?!
